When to call me for lock replacement?
You change a lock when all the keys are lost, after a move with a tenant who hands the keys back, following a separation, or simply because the cylinder sticks, grates or no longer turns smoothly. If your neighbour has been burgled, this is the moment to step up to A2P★★ or ★★★. On recent hardware from Vachette, Bricard, Heracles, JPM or Mottura, simply changing the cylinder is enough in most cases; for old lever locks or units warped through use, I remove the complete lock.
How I work
I start with a diagnosis, often a WhatsApp photo of the door edge and the cylinder is enough. On site, I measure the cylinder offset and length, I check the door thickness, then I order the part or take it from my van. I remove the old cylinder, fit the new one, adjust it, test it several times under real conditions, and hand you the new keys. I am glad to suggest a clutch cylinder: you can open from the outside even if a key has been left engaged on the inside.
