When to call me for domestic glazing?
A pane shattered after an attempted break-in, glass caught by a ball or a gust of wind, double glazing fogged up with condensation trapped between the two panes (failed sealing gasket), a patio door cracked by an impact, a kitchen window that has blown out, an interior door pane broken after an argument: I secure the opening straight away (temporary panel, keeping out water and draughts) while the made-to-measure glass is ordered. Standard 4/16/4 Argon double glazing, 4/16/44.2 laminated for break-in resistance, frosted for the bathroom — your home insurance generally covers broken glass under the dedicated guarantee.
How I work
You send me two or three WhatsApp photos of the broken pane and the frame: I identify the type (single, double, laminated, frosted), I take the dimensions and the thickness. If the pane has shattered, I come the same day to screw on an OSB or polycarbonate panel to close the opening. I order the made-to-measure glass (24 to 72 h depending on the type). On fitting day: I remove the shards, clean the frame, fit with neutral silicone sealant or beading depending on your joinery, and check the seal. I prepare the insurance report for you if you wish.
