When to call me for securing your home after a burglary?
You come back from a weekend away and the door has been forced. You discover on returning from holiday a picked lock and ransacked drawers. A neighbour warns you that a door has been left open. The steps to follow: first call 17 to have it recorded, do not touch anything before the police arrive. Then notify your insurer within two working days (French Insurance Code L.113-2), by phone or registered letter. Then call me: I step in to secure everything, and I hand you photos and a detailed quote for your file. A forced lock must always be changed, even if it seems to work — a cylinder that has been attacked is compromised.
How I work
I arrive on site and assess the damage with you. I photograph the door, the cylinder, the signs of break-in for your insurance file. I replace the attacked cylinder, sometimes the complete lock if it has been deformed. If the door is too damaged to close, I fit an OSB panel while the part is ordered. When the original door no longer offers the desired security, I then suggest, as a second step, the installation of an A2P-certified security door, on a separate appointment with its own quote. The securing quote I hand you is designed to be passed straight on to your insurer.
